Quick update!!

Life has been really crazy. Mom had surgery on 5 hyrneia's. She had it done at the University of Utah hospital. By the time they did the surgery the 5 turned into 1 big one and they had to do a double repair. We thought she had it done all laproscopic, but ended up they did both laproscopic and then had to open her up, which we didnt' find out until the follow up apt. Nice of the Dr. to tell me. It has been a slow recovery, she is doing much better now. It's been about 3 weeks. So, Matt has been going to work with Dad to keep the business running. He is such a great husband. We have been so blessed during this time. So, during all this I have been a full time nurse and a mom and the gopher and trying to keep the business and things at home going smoothly. Hence no time for blogging. We have all had really bad coughs and colds which have lasted almost a month. I think mine is finally starting to leave for good. I seem to have my voice more often than not. Which is a huge improvement, especially seeings how I'm supposed to sing a solo in Relief Society on Sunday. Colton is growing leaps and bounds and is getting smarter and smarter everyday. He sure is developing into his own little person with such a great imagination. He is really good at playing by himself and loves to help out. He is mommy's little helper and is really good at it. He can help unload the dishwasher and put the dishes away that he can reach and then he helps load it. I can't believe at how much he can do. He had been really good about the Christmas tree being up. Hasn't messed with it, but loved being able to help decorate it. He loves putting the presents under the tree and so far hasn't messed with them. Well, gotta run, I hear Grammy, telling Colton to get out of something. What else is new?

Where's Colton

This is where Colton likes to be now, I don't know why, but he quite enjoys it. I know you always seem to see him in his pj's, but it's the only thing that I can keep on him. Otherwise, he takes off all of his clothes and pulls off his diaper and runs around saying, "I nakey"

Bye, Bye

Colton loves to wear Grandad's hats and put on sunglasses, and say bye, bye. Except this time, he actually opened the door and walked out. When did he get tall enough to open the door? Guess we will be dead bolting it now.

Silly Kid

Colton absolutely loves to get undressed, all except his shoes that is....don't know why?
He reminds me of Uncle Lindsay- undershirt and loafers

Happy Halloween

This year Colton was an elephant again. His costume still fit from last year, in fact it fit better. He loved the idea of trick or treating and getting candy in his "bucket". We went to our wards trunk or treat and then Colton and I went to some of our neighbors. It was a fun night. He is such a cute little peanut.

Birthday Pictures

Here are some more pictures of Colton's birthday party at Hoogle Zoo and at Grandma & Grandpa Funk's

It's Electrifying

Matt & I remodeled Mom and Dad's den into our bedroom. We were getting ready for Aunt Bean, Uncle John & Carolyn to move in to mom and dad's. We moved Colton into our old room and painted and decorated it. We took off the paneling and Spackle and painted. It was quite a project. I still need to take finished pictures, but I did get before and during. Colton thought he was helping by spackeling with one of my color brushes he found, it was really cute. He also tried sanding with a block. We were very blessed during this time, Matt and I were working hard on priming and all of the sudden the lights went out, there was Colton standing by the plug with a screwdriver that had the metal blown out of it in parts. Thank goodness the handle was rubber. We checked him over and no marks, he didn't even make a peep. He said his arm hurt, which I'm sure it did. We were so blessed. He could have been a goner. I took a picture of the screwdriver, but it's hard to tell with the metal. I've included pictures of Colton's room. He loves having a room all to himself. It's cute how he will go in there and play for hours by himself. He got to chose what he wanted in his room as far as the border, he chose Winnie the Pooh. I thought for sure he would have chose Lightning McQueen, or Nemo, but he wanted Pooh. Oh, ya, we found his desk at a yard sale for $3.00. We gave him an old keyboard and a mouse, he thinks he's all grown up. He likes to work at his desk, when I'm working in the office.

All Fall Down...

Colton has managed to fall 6 times this morning before noon. The first spill was the biggest, he fell from his chair at the table and landed on his back and head. He bit his lip in the process and got a bloody nose. Then he tripped 2 times on a rug, fell of his train and hit his head, ran into a wall while running out of his room playing like a dog and then tripped on the stairs. Poor kid. Now he is napping hope nothing happens to him, while he is sleeping. I think he needs to start this day over. Although he reminds me of my Grandma Tinker, she was really clumsy and was always hurting herself. It seemed as though she would hurt herself once and then she kept doing it all day long. I think it runs in the family. Sorry, Colton, you have your mom and Grandma's genes. Love ya little man.

Cute Phrases

I wanted to write these down before we forgot about them...
Here are a few of the cute phrases Colton says..

He loves eating apples and cheese with Grammy. He is a good reader for scriptures every night and kneels for prayer, it's really cute.
What a cutie, most of the time, he is two, so along comes the temper tantrums and the whinning. That is not so fun. It's really cute how Matt deals with him. He has his talks with him and tries to reason with him. Colton has his daddy wrapped around his little finger, but Daddy is gettting wiser. Matt is a great dad and loves his little man so much. We are so lucky to have Colton as a part of our family.

Quick update

baby Giraffe
baby snow leopard
Baby Elephant
I know it's been forever since I've written on this, but life is crazy and I haven't felt much like blogging. Matt has gone to work with dad while we are waiting to schedule mom's hyernia surgery. She's doing pretty good, just can't lift anything and hurts quite a bit. Bean, John and Carolyn have come to live at mom and dad's. So, the house is a bit crowded, but not too bad. Bean and John are in a motor home and Carolyn is staying in the spare bedroom. I have great examples from my parents on loving and supporting family members.
Colton is growing taller in leaps and bounds. He still only weighs about 22 lbs. and eats non stop. The Dr. said he's just tall and skinny. We celebrated his 2nd birthday at Hogle Zoo. Then had a family get together at Grandma Funks. It went pretty good, except the cake that I made special for his birthday, that looked like a zoo with cages and animals and all. Didn't make it. Bean left it on the top of the van and well, you can guess, it was gone. But, it's ok life goes on. The sad thing, I didn't take a picture of it when I finished, because I figured I would take one when we got to Arla's. Guess I was wrong, I spent so much time on that cake and it was so cute with ground coverings and monkeys hanging from vine licorice and all. The zoo was fun. We got to see a baby elephant, baby tiger cubs, baby snow leopards, baby monkey's and a baby giraffe.
It actually snowed here last week, it didn't stick to the ground, but it was strange to see. It's cooled off and is definitely fall.
