Colton got so excited about a half hour into unwrapping presents, it finally hit him what was going on. He didn't like actually unwrapping presents though, so we had to help him, but he loved the idea of getting something for him after it was unwrapped.
If you listen real close on one of the videos, I ask Colton to say Merry Christmas, he gives his attempt at it, it's pretty cute. Matt got just as excited as Colton, it was really funny. I have the two greatest men in my life. I love you both, thanks for making this an extra fun Christmas!Tuesday, December 30, 2008

Christmas Eve
Christmas Eve wasn't like in years past, we delivered breads to our neighbors and finished our baking and wrapping. Usually all that is done the week before Christmas, but this year it just didn't happen, but that's okay, it was a beautiful day and we had a lot of fun visiting with our neighbors and friends. Then we just kind of hung out and ate Egg Rolls for dinner, then we opened our family gifts, we were up pretty late. Colton made it until about 9:00 pm. For those of you that don't know, one person hands out one gift at a time for each person, then we take turns opening up our gift then just keep doing it in rounds until they are all opened. It is a lot of fun, but sometimes takes a while. We take potty breaks and snack breaks in between. Matt really spoiled me this year and he usually does and Matt got spoiled in return. We got some great things. Then Santa Claus comes on Christmas Eve night and we are so excited for him to come. And he didn't let us down this year. Our stockings were full and Santa was good to us. Matt got an MP3 player, I got a set of heated hair rollers, and Colton got a train that teaches you how to count and say your alphabet and a lot of other things. Grammy got a Fossil watch and Grandad got a portrait of George Washington praying at Valley Forge. We spent Christmas Day in our Pj's and just played and lounged and took naps, then had Christmas Dinner and webcamed our family. We had a wonderful Christmas thanks to all of our family-Matt's and Mine, you all spoiled us. We love you and hope you have a Happy New Year!!!
Winter Pictures
This is for Amy. Christmas Eve was a beautiful sunny, snowy day. Christmas Day it snowed all day, then the next day we had over 3 and a half feet of snow.+

Merry Christmas
We would just like to wish everyone a Very Merry Christmas. I am so thankful for the birth of our brother and Savior, Jesus Christ. I'm glad that we have the opportunity of celebrating his birth and reflecting on his perfect life. I'm grateful for Mary and Joseph for their obedience and faithfulness in raising The Son of God. What faith and obedience it took on their part to fulfill the will of our Father In Heaven to have his Son born in a lowly stable to such a virtuous woman, who Joseph loved deeply. I'm thankful that they took the time to teach, love and raise him. I'm especially grateful for my Savior, Jesus Christ for his life filled of service, love, obedience, leadership, and friend. I know that Jesus is the Christ, that through him and only him we can return to live with our Father in Heaven again one day. It's through his atonement that we are able to be cleansed from our sins, our heartaches, our pains, disappointments, and anything and everything that this wonderful life has to offer each of us. I know that our Savior is our Brother and Friend. I'm truly and forever grateful for his sacrifice in my behalf. I'm thankful to know that it is through the gospel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints, which the Lord himself instituted on the earth, that we are all an eternal family and each of us have the opportunity of returning to live with our Father in Heaven. I'm so thankful for that little babe, who was born in a Manger, what endless love he has for each of us.
Merry Christmas means so much to me- it stands for Mary the mother of the Christ.
I hope you all have a safe and wonderful Christmas and a happy holiday.

Flashlight
So, last week Grandad gave Colton his flashlight to play with. It's a new experience for him. He loved it, it was so fun watching him, try to figure out how the light got on the ceiling and where it came from. He loved it, he tried to catch the light.

Walking in a Winter Wonderland...
Gone away is the blue bird here to stay is the cold brrrr....I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas, well our dreams came true this last week. I just wanted to post some pictures of our beautiful snow here in Cache Valley for all of my family in Az, who won't be having a white Christmas or go walking in the Winter Wonderland. It is quite pretty, but it has also been really cold. But, it is much like a Winter Wonderland. I love the snow and the peacefullness that it brings when it is snowing and how much I love to watch it float to the ground and watch how it gets blown and swirls in different directions.
Merry Christmas!!!

New Favorite Christmas Story
I have a new favorite Christmas Story, it's Humphrey's first Christmas. About a camel who loses his prized possesion and takes a journey to lead him to a baby. I love it and the illustrations are amazing. So beautiful. If you get a chance you should read it. It's by Carol Heyer. I highly recommend this to anyone.

Silly Things Colton Does
So as I am trying to get things ready for Christmas and listening to Colton just talk and talk and talk to the calculator, himself, and occasionally me or Grammy. He even talked in his sleep last night around 1 or 2 in the morning I heard him start talking and then he laughed and went right back to sleep. It woke Matt and I up and we just giggled then went back to sleep ourselves. Then get frusterated when we don't understand what he wants, or he laughs at what he has just said. It's pretty funny. Then I remember how he picks things up wether it's food or a piece of paper whatever it is, he uses his index finger and thumb, it's cute. He plays extremely well by himself and can entertain himself. If he does something all by himself and you say "good job Colton you did it by yoursel, you're such a big boy" he shakes his head and agrees with you. The other night we were watching Christmas movies and we all had a box of Junior Mints, well Grandad got up to get something and left his box on his chair. Well Colton ran to Grandad's chair and snatched the box of Jr. Mints, then we all said, Colton, Grandad is coming and is going to get you, those aren't yours. Well he threw the box like a hot potatoe and it landed on the ground spilled open and he stuffed his mouth and filled both hands faster than I've ever seen him move. He wanted to make sure he got rid of the evidence and wasn't about to get caught red handed. Matt calls him Sticky fingers, because he is always grabbing something that he shouldn't have and running off. He likes to read books now, you read about a page if that, then he takes the book and does what he thinks is reading. It's pretty cute.

Follow-up
Just a follow up on the annoying sound. Coloton does this sound along with his normal yelling and screaming in excitement. But for some reason this sound drives Matt crazy, he says it's like fingernails on a blackboard. So, yep, you guessed it I encourage it whenever I can and do it along with Colton.

Annoying Sound
Colton started making this new sound, that annoys his dad to death. I think it's really funny!!! You can't really see him, but you can hear it.
Here Comes Santa Claus...
So, tonight we went to our ward Christmas party. It was a lot of fun, we had a nice dinner, the Primary age kids got to hit Christmas Pinatas, then the best part....Santa came. Well, Colton didn't want anything to do with Santa, it was pretty funny. I even sat on Santa's lap, because I like him so well. We got Colton a cute Santa copter outfit with Ho, Ho, Ho on the bum. It's quite cute.
